For backpacking, camping or even hiking there is a wide range of gear available, with a wide range of weights. Many people wonder about where regular gear ends and lightweight backpacking gear begins. There isn’t really any set point where the transition is made.
It actually helps to look at a whole backpack, instead of individual pieces of gear. When you consider an entire backpack of gear, there is a useful metric to go by, which is base weight. Your base weight is the weight of everything you will take with you, minus anything that you will be wearing, as well as any food or water.
A base weight below 10 pounds is considered to be lightweight, or ultralight. A base weight below 5 pounds is considered to be super ultralight, or super lightweight. While 10 pounds is relatively easy to get to, 5 pounds is quite a bit harder, and involves some sacrifices.
Digital Cameras Are the Best Thing for Budding Photographers

Taking pictures of events and occasions has always been one of my favorite things to do. I’m no portrait photographer but I’m good enough to be proud of the photos I take. I love going through old boxes of pictures and remembering old times. I have never really had a fancy camera, but that has not stopped me from taking pictures. When my kids were younger, I would buy them disposable cameras so they could take pictures without me having to worry about what would happen to the camera. But I ended up paying to develop some pretty goofy pictures. With the advent of digital cameras, my kids can take as many pictures as they want, and they do take a lot, we had over 700 shots from our last vacation. But I did not have to print them all. We can store them on the computer now, and just print out the best ones. My daughter has become a very good photographer with the use of digital cameras. We still love taking pictures, now we just take a lot more!

- Redneck golf is a thoroughly entertaining game which has been around for a long time now. It was also called hillbilly golf and ladder golf in the previous years. It is a lawn game which is suitable for all ages. It is a personal favorite among teenagers and adults. But even little children enjoy playing redneck golf. The feature that makes this game so lovable is that it is very simple and easy. The rules can be easily understood once and you do not have to repeat them over and over again. This game is played by two teams. To play a game of redneck golf you will require two golf ladders and two pairs of bolos. These golf ladders are made of PVC and are kept at least fifteen feet apart from each other. Each team stands next to a ladder and takes turns to toss the bolos at the other bolos.
